October 2023 Status Update
Hello Everyone!
Has it really been almost a year since I've made a status update post on itchio? No wonder people think the project is dead, oops!
Anyways, the project is still in hiatus; however, recently I have been getting back to efforts to keep things moving forward in art and programming aspects.
To summarize what I've been up to over this last year, I've mostly been raising my child who is now two and a bit more independent. As time goes on that may become more of a thing but the balance between work and personal life has remained challenging. I have been involved with assisting with programming for another project that will hopefully have their playtest demo out by the end of the year. From that project I have continued working on Mira Co Rescue with the knowledge I gained from working through their tasks.
In doing so, the Collective Mothership's battle system is slightly different than the main game; however, peril now only activates when the character's HP is lower than 30%. This allows for the current sprites I've drawn to function but not completely lock you out of combat constantly.
However, since that only occurs when you're at low health, I have utilized the other parts of the battle engine to generate sprite changes during contextual moments in combat. The attached image is the rough sketches of the various sprites along with some finished sprites I've worked on during Picarto Streams on Thursday / Saturday at 7PM-10PM CST.
I've also done some sketches for a story that is being written to keep myself busy with artwork due to the long hiatus.
Hopefully I'll post more about this more frequently than once per year; however, the project is still in what I'd call a hiatus as we are not moving very fast in terms of development with other work and other personal things getting in the way. One day we'll return to the project in full swing, but for now it'll be the slower progress reports with artwork.
I hope everyone stays safe out there. Remember to drink plenty of water, get rest, and take care of yourselves.
Until next time!

Hell yeah, great to here that you're still on the wagon. Glad you've been taking care of rl, that always comes first, especially since it's raising a kid.
Let's know that when a children starts walking, they also starts climbing every chair, table or any dangerous high location they can try to.
So you won't stop having to watch over your child all day. So don't rush updating the game : it's less important than your child.
Yay! Seeing this update makes me very happy! Mira Co is way too good of a game to be left unfinished :)
Raising a child is a tough job, best of luck!
Thanks for the update on this project, too! Even if going slowly, progress is progress, looking forward to this!
Happy to hear you're well! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with in the future regarding this IP. It was a fun game, it would be awesome to see it sold on Steam in the future.

Happy Halloween.

Woah, glad to know you are still around! Even if the updates come slowly they are very much appreciated. Keep up the great work with both personal life and the project!
